Britta Skärby-Vindenes has had her main involvement in Bergen Cultural School as a violin teacher ensemble teacher and conductor for many years. She was involved in the start-up of Lørdagsskolen, which later became a classical specialization where she was an orchestra / ensemble leader.
She was also involved when the Barratt Due department in Bergen was established and has since 2012 been engaged as a violin teacher and ensemble teacher there. In 2018-2020, she was the administrative head of the department.

Britta was born in Sweden and came to Norway to study at the Norwegian Academy of Music where she took an instrumental and music pedagogical exam in 5 years. She has also studied baroque violin.

Britta has taken exams in all five levels of Suzuki methodology. She started and ran the collaboration group Suzuki Viva for 17 years. Suzuki Viva was an association for violin students of all ages, which ran interaction groups, seminars and concerts. Britta has collaborated with many other musicians and Suzuki educators, and she has an extensive international network. She has often collaborated with Koen Rens, Jan Mathiessen, Melinda Mandozzi.

For many years she conducted regular seminars and concerts with the Bergen Baroque. Britta has taught students and ensembles that have won awards locally and nationally in UMM.

As a performing musician, she has been a freelancer in Bergen. Her first job after the Academy of Music in Oslo was in Regional Music in Sweden. She was involved in starting up the Ålesund String Quartet and had a permanent job there for 6 years.

Britta is a sought-after teacher and instructor and teaches, among other things. at Valdres Summer Symphony and the Norwegian Suzuki Association's summer course in, Geilo.

Britta now runs Bergen Klassisk AS together with Njål Vindenes. She takes on playing assignments and assignments as a teacher, instructor and conductor.
