Prices 2024
Valdres Sommersymfoni is financed with both public and private funds. This enables us to offer subsidized courses and create a national and international meeting place for the next generation of musicians. We have arranged for a scholarship scheme that it will be possible to apply for, if it is necessary for you to be able to participate in the course. Read more about this below. The application fee is 300 NOK for all courses

Course fee and application fee

The subsidized course fee for all our courses is NOK 9975* per participant per course period. The course fee covers all teaching and concerts (NOK 6000), as well as board and lodging at Valdres folkehøgskole (NOK 3975).

When submitting an application to our courses, there is a mandatory application fee of NOK 300. This is an administration fee that applies to all courses and is non-refundable (see regulations).

Discounts

Scholarship: For participants who need it, it is possible to apply for a half or full scholarship of NOK 3000 or NOK 6000. Apply for this when submitting the application.

*Scholarship for harp and organ participants: Participants who are selected for the harp or organ courses will receive a separate subsidized participant price. The participants receive direct notification of this from Nettverk for orgelpedagoger og Norsk harpeforening.

Orkester for alle: It is possible to apply for ekstra scholarship for participation through UNOF. Read more and apply here: https://orkester.no/stotteordning/orkester-for-alle

Additions

Chamber music elective: Chamber music elective, NOK 1000 kr per person.

MITOP elective: MITOP elective, NOK 500kr per person. 

Single room at the hotel: Is available for an additional fee of 300 NOK per night (1500 NOK in total for one course period).

Price for parents and other accompanying adults: 4750 NOK*

Price for siblings that does not participate in the course: 3975 NOK*

*Includes board and lodging at Valdres folkehøgskole (Leira) in one course period and free admission to all course concerts.

Cancellation

  • If your payment is delayed you may loose your place at the course.
  • If cancellation is made before May 1st 2024, your payment will be refunded (application fee is non-refundable)
  • If cancellation is made before June 1st 2024, 50% of your payment will be refunded (application fee is non-refundable)
  • If the cancellation is made after June 1st 2024, the course fee is non-refundable.
