To apply for Valdres sommersymfoni you fill in the application form within the deadline 15 January.
When the application has been submitted, you will receive an automatic e-mail confirming this. If you have received this e-mail, everything is in order, and you will receive a reply by 15 February.
15 November 2023: The application form opens.
15 January 2024: Application deadline.
15 february 2024: All registered applications is answered.
1st March 2024: Deadline for participants: confirmation of participation, payment of course fee and concert registration.
15 april 2024: Information about the repertoire and sheet music will be sent directly to the participants be e-mail and posted on the website.
You apply for the period and course that is right for your age and level. You can also choose to be considered for an other course if you do not get accepted on the course that you apply for. The jury will do its best to place you in the course where you get the best possible musical development depending on your level.
Valdres sommersymfoni reserves the right to make selections based on the information provided in the application form and recordings.
It is possible to send in a recording after you registered. You can submit your recording by e-mail (ingvild.loen@sommersymfoni.no) until January 15th. This is the applicants own responsibility, and applications that lack any recording will not be considered.
Application fee: All our courses involve a mandatory payment at 300 NOK when submitting your application.

Payment deadline: The deadline for payment and accepting your participation is 1st March 2024.
After March 15th we will have an overview of cancellations and will then start the work of distributing the waiting list places. We ask for your understanding that we can not comment on your place on the waiting list. We will contact you as soon as possible if we can offer you a place.
As Valdres Summer Symphony is a national and international course, students may experience that they are not accepted to the same course as those they otherwise play in orchestra with.
Parents: All participants born in 2013 or later MUST be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Participants born in 2011 or 2012 CAN be accompanied by a parent/guardian if there are available rooms at the school.
Tick this in the application form and enter the name of the guardian who will be with you.
Siblings: The main rule is that we only have room for the children who are participants at the course, but we understand that some parents have small children who for practical reasons must join. You register this in the application form. There is a separate price for accompanying parents and siblings.
