GNIST was represented by Scarlett, who was interviewed by Ingeborg Christophersen, a member of the foundation’s board. Scarlett spoke warmly about life as a GNIST participant. Her summary was simple: everything is great, from lessons to swimming! The only negative thing she could think of was that the gatherings are far too short.
As part of the award ceremony, the audience also enjoyed a concert by the evening’s other award recipient, Franz Ludvig Serafin Kraggerud (13). Franz completed his time in the GNIST programme this summer and is both an outstanding cellist and a very deserving prize winner. The audience heard a varied programme performed on a 1680 Francesco Rugeri cello, generously loaned by Dextra Musica: Bach for solo cello, Shostakovich’s Sonata for Cello and Piano with his brother Hector, and, to conclude, the first movement of Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio No. 1, Op. 49, performed by siblings Franz, Hector and Alma Kraggerud.
