Ole Eirik Ree

Ole Eirik Ree, cello, is currently Vice Pricipal and associate professor at Barratt Due Institute of Music.

A recording with chamber music by Eugène Ysaÿe (string trio and cello solo sonata) in collaboration with Henning Kraggerud and Lars Anders Tomter was released on Naxos in 2009 to universal critical acclaim. In the fall of 2017 Marcus Paus' "Schostakovich in memoriam" for cello and srings, with Oslo Camerata, was published by Sheva.

Ree holds a doctoral degree in musical arts (DMA) from Mason Gross School og the Arts, USA, under the tutelage of the cello-legend Zara Nelsova and Jonathan Spitz. He is currently playing on an E. Rocca cello, generously on loan from the Dextra Musica foundation.
