Anna Gebert

Anna Gebert enjoys a broad career as a chamber musician, concertmaster and pedagogue. Her areas of competence range from early baroque to contemporary music. She performs at chamber festivals around the world and is in high demand as guest leader of major European symphony, opera and baroque orchestras.
Her violin education started with her mother Grazyna Zeranska and her teacher Zoria Chikmurzaeva as well as Zinaida Gilels and Igor Bezrodny, Magdalena Rezler, taking her to Munich to Ana Chumachenco and Indiana University to Miriam Fried and the study of baroque violin with Stanley Ritchie. After completing her education in the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic and a year as a full time player in the orchestra, she was appointment concertmaster in the Cologne Gürzenich Orchestra in 2007 and 1st concertmaster in Trondheim Symphony Orchestra in 2011, a position which she held until 2019 along with a teaching position at the Trondheim University NTNU institute of music. 

Since 2020 Anna is professor of violin at the Zurich University of Arts and of chamber music at the Musik Akademie Basel, and gives masterclasses and online teaching around the world.
