Christian Henriksen (born 1979) grew up in a musical family and has his musical roots in jazz, pop, rock and folk music. As a child he learned to play the piano, tuba and electric bass when his grandfather bought a Chinese double bass to secure his grandson a "real" job. Christian names Tor Ivar Andreassen, Knut Guettler, Dan Styffe and Janne Saksala as his most influental teachers.
Christian has worked with orchestras and ensembles such Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester Berlin, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Deutsche Sinfonieorchester Berlin, The Norwegian Chamber Orchestra and Ensemble BIT20.
Christian has been the solo double bassist of the Norwegian Opera Orchestra since 2007.
