Inga Lohne-Otterstad (Norway) is a soprano from Oslo (b. 2003) with extensive experience as both a soloist and ensemble singer despite her young age. She is known for her curiosity about a wide range of musical styles and repertoire and works purposefully to develop a flexible and healthy instrument through diverse musical experiences.
As a soloist, she has collaborated with several of Norway’s leading orchestras, including the Oslo Philharmonic, Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, Oslo Symphony Orchestra, and Romerike Symphony Orchestra. She has also gained extensive experience as a choral singer through Solistkoret UNG, ÆTLA Vocal Ensemble in Copenhagen, the Norwegian Youth Choir, Oslo Chamber Choir, and the Children’s Chorus of the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet. In addition, she has performed roles at both the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet and during her studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
Inga is currently completing her Bachelor’s degree in Classical Voice at the Norwegian Academy of Music, where she studies with Ann-Helen Moen, and will continue there as a Master’s student. She has also been part of the Academy’s talent development programme and completed an exchange year at the Royal Danish Academy of Music with Tuva Semmingsen. During the 2025/2026 season, she is a participant in the Queen Sonja Singing Competition’s Opera Academy.
She has a strong connection to Valdres sommersymfoni, first as a young cellist and later as a singer and festival artist. In her letter of motivation, she highlights collaboration as the essence of a musician’s life: “What I find most rewarding about music is making music together with others.” She is eager to challenge herself through new repertoire and new chamber music constellations and sees Papillon as an arena for developing her communication skills, artistic confidence, and new musical relationships
