TrondheimSolistene with Rohey Taalah

During this year's Valdres sommersymfoni, audiences will hear Rohey Taalah in a format that showcases the breadth of her work in recent years. Taalah has made her mark on the Norwegian music scene with projects ranging from jazz and soul to more experimental expressions, and her collaboration with TrondheimSolistene is among the projects that have recently received significant attention through concerts in Trondheim in the fall of 2024 and during the Oslo Jazz Festival in 2025.

In its review of the Oslo Jazz Festival, Taalah's voice is described as a natural and strong match for TrondheimSolistene's flexibility and genre breadth. Dagsavisen also highlights how the collaboration breathes new life into the repertoire in its review of the concert in 2025.

This time, TrondheimSolistene and Rohey Taalah will present a repertoire that combines newly arranged versions of well-known pop, soul, and jazz songs with selected classical works for strings. In this concert, they will perform Joni Mitchell's Both Sides, Now, in addition to several works with thematic lines revolving around the many expressions of love. The arrangements are by Martin Myhre Olsen.

The concert marks a new chapter in the collaboration between Taalah and TrondheimSolistene, and gives the festival audience a rare opportunity to hear them in a new repertoire.
