We Walk Together – Herborg Kråkevik Opens Valdres Summer Symphony 2026

Herborg Kråkevik opens this year’s Valdres Summer Symphony when she takes the stage together with the Trondheim Soloists, pianist Helge Lilletvedt and violinist Guro Kleven Hagen. The concert marks the start of the festival and continues the musical direction established in Kråkevik’s acclaimed Songbook (Songbook).

The album, released in 2000, became one of the best‑selling Norwegian records of all time and earned Kråkevik the Spellemann Artist of the Year award. Her interpretations of songs such as “Den fyrste song” (“The First Song”) and “Til ungdommen” (“To the Youth”) received wide attention, and her collaboration with the Trondheim Soloists and Helge Lilletvedt became central to the artistic expression now being revisited.

In 2026, Kråkevik is active on several fronts. She appears in the TV2 programme Hver gang vi møtes (Every Time We Meet), with a new episode airing this coming Sunday, and she is releasing both a new album and a book in March. The book, created in collaboration with the National Museum, connects songs and paintings under the title Vi vandrar saman (“We Walk Together”).

The spring 2026 tour follows three sold‑out anniversary concerts the previous year. The repertoire from the Songbook is being renewed, and audiences will hear both classic recordings and brand‑new songs from the upcoming album. The Valdres concert also features something special: Guro Kleven Hagen, one of the festival’s artistic directors, will for the first time lead the concert as playing leader on this tour.

Tickets for the opening concert are now on sale. The full festival programme will be launched on 6 March in Fagernes and on 7 March in Oslo, and tickets for these events are also available on the programme and ticket page.
