Ann-Helen Moen, soprano, is a highly versatile singer, known for her musical interpretations of a broad repertoire ranging from early Baroque to the great Romantic composers and contemporary music, both in concert and opera. This has led to close collaborations with conductors such as Edward Gardner and Masaaki Suzuki, and she recently appeared as a soloist on recordings with them in Grieg's Peer Gynt with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and Beethoven's Missa Solemnis and 9th Symphony with Bach Collegium Japan.
She is known for her Mozart interpretations, especially for her Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at the Norwegian Opera & Ballet. She has also received rave reviews in other Mozart roles such as the Countess in The Marriage of Figaro, Donna Elvira and Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Pamina and 1st Lady in The Magic Flute, and Sandrina in La Finta Giardiniera.
She performs regularly with all Norwegian and Danish orchestras and collaborates with pianists such as Christian Ihle Hadland, Håvard Gimse, Liv Glaser and Ingrid Andsnes.
Conductors she has sung with include Ed Gardner, Masaaki Suzuki, Rinaldo Alessandrini, William Christie, Harry Christophers, Sir Andrew Davis, Paul McCreesh, Eivind Gullberg Jensen, Philippe Jordan, Kristjan Järvi, Andrew Litton, Susanna Mälkki and Juanjo Mena.
She studied with Susanna Eken at the Opera Academy in Copenhagen. After completing her studies, she spent three years as a soloist at the opera in Graz, Austria.
This season she makes her debut as Tosca at the Opera Festival in Kristiansund. Together with Liv Glaser (fortepiano), she has recently recorded Mozart's Lieder for SIMAX Classics.
