As an international soloist and chamber musician Mats Lidström has gained a reputation for performance of great insight and viruosity. He displays a musicianship of unique versatility and productivity, illustrated by his highly imiginative concert programs and recordings. 

Collaboration with other artist and orchestras include Anne Sofie von Otter, Vladimir Ashkenazy, André Previn and Marios Papadopoulos, Oxford Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, the Czech Philharmonic and DSO Berlin. He appears on award-winning CD´s for EMI, Decca and Deutsche Gramophone as well as on his own label



Mats Lidström´s music is written for the audience in mind: tonal and harmonically colourful. It often forms part of his concert programmes and is distributed worldwide by CelloLid via and 



Appointed professor at the Royal Academy og Music in London in 1993, Mats Lidström has given masterclasses at conservatories in the USA, Australia, Brazil, Colombia, Portugal, Spain, Poland, Bulgaria, Denmark, the UK and Sweden. He is the founder of the annual summer course EXPANSION for cellists.
