The Summer Symphony's International Academy for Singers takes place in the 2nd course period; June 28th - July 3rd 2023.

The course is a pilot project intended for outstanding singers under the age of 18 from the Nordic countries. The course will focus on romances in collaboration with Nasjonalt Klavertiltak - outstanding pianists under the age of 18. The course will be held by the renowned soloist and pedagogue Ann-Helen Moen.

The course is also a great opportunity to meet and socialize with peers and performers on other instruments and to experience festival concerts with world leading performers!

Course details

  • Number of participants: 6
  • Daily individual lessons 
  • Masterclasses
  • Daily workshops on techniques and other relevant topics for singers 
  • Possibility for concert performance with pianist
  • Possibility for music theory electives
  • Free admission to selected festival concerts and all course concerts 

Criterias

  • Age limit: born June 29th 2005 -2009 (under the age of 18 when the course starts).
  • Applicants must submitt two self-selected pieces with different characters and in different languages. It can be a live concert recording, a recording made for a competition or a new recording made for the occation. The recording must not be older than 12 months. Please include a link to the recording in the application form. 
  • Please include a CV if you have it (optional)
  • Processing of application requires application fee to be paid in advance (300 NOK). 
  • Course participation requires the course fee to be paid in full ahead of course period.
  • The course fee (3750 NOK) include all tutoring, board and lodging for participants under the age of 18. 
  • Valdres sommersymfoni reserves the right to make selections based on the information provided in the application form and recordings.
